New Year Resolutions
~ I will strive to be more motivated and organized
~ I will strive to have more patience.
~ I will get a sewing machine and learn how to use it!
~ I will catalog and organize my knitting supplies and yarn.
~ I will get back into cross stitch.
~ I will get my Belavi Facelift Massage Certification.
Okay, that's all I have for right now. I'm sure I'll have more to post later. This new year is bringing a LOT of change to our family! We are moving in the begining of February so I will be spending most of January getting organized and packed. Leslie will be changing schools because of the move too. I'm hoping this year will be MUCH better than last year! Wish me luck people!

We made it!
Oh sorry, where was I? Oh yeah, it's over! Leslie is out of school and now that feels strange! But I didn't mind NOT having to walk her to school in the rain today! New focus now, MOVING! We've got about 5 weeks till the big move! YAY Please, everyone, send your organizational thoughts and energy my way. I NEED it! Seriously. I hate moving but I don't plan on moving for at least a couple years unless I will the lottery and then I will be traveling the world! I won't have to move anything because I will just buy new stuff where ever I go! And since we're on the topic of winning the lottery, here is a sure fire way to tell if you are a redneck like me.........If when dreaming of the lottery you think it would be so cool (as I do) to walk into WalMart and buy ANYTHING you want! Oooolala ain't I fancy! Alright folks, I'll shut my yapper now! Take care and happy knitting. Yes, I do STILL knit! Really I do!

Poop! and the Holidays!
That aside, we are late getting into the Christmas/Giftmas/Yule spirit this year! We have yet to put up a tree. Something I am planning on doing tomorrow. Things have been crazy with Dave's new job, a move looming in the very near future, and of course, colds passing back and forth! We did manage to get out last weekend to shop a little bit and I'm hoping to finish up this Saturday. Wish me luck, PLEASE! I need it. I'm not really stressed about the holidays. I don't think there's really a point to getting all stressed out anyway. It takes all the fun out of everything. And gifts are just things. Yes it's nice to get gifts, it's very nice to give gifts. But it's just a physical way of saying "I think you're special" and sometimes telling that to someone face to face is far more special than giving a gift that you trudged through the mall to get! So remember that people! Seriously, Merry Christmas, Happy Yule, Merry Giftmas. Whatever you celebrate, enjoy your holidays!
Thank you that is all!

A Mother's Wish List to Santa
I've been a good mom all year. I've fed, cleaned and cuddled my children on demand, visited the doctor's office more than my doctor and sold sixty-two cases of candy bars to raise money to plant a shade tree on the school playground. I was hoping you could spread my list out over several Christmases, since I had to write this letter with my son's red crayon, on the back of a receipt in the laundry room between cycles, and who knows when I'll find anymore free time in the next 18 years.
Here are my Christmas wishes:
I'd like a pair of legs that don't ache (in any color, except purple, which I already have) and arms that don't hurt or flap in the breeze, but are strong enough to pull my screaming child out of the candy aisle in the grocery store.
I'd also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in the seventh month of my last pregnancy.
If you're hauling big ticket items this year I'd like fingerprint resistant windows and a radio that only plays adult music, a television that doesn't broadcast any programs containing talking animals, and a refrigerator with a secret compartment behind the crisper where I can hide to talk on the phone.
On the practical side, I could use a talking doll that says, "Yes, Mommy" to boost my parental confidence, along with two kids who don't fight and three pairs of jeans that will zip all the way up without the use of power tools.
I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting "Don't eat in the living room" and "Take your hands off your sister," because my voice seems to be just out of my children's hearing range and can only be heard by the dog.
If it's too late to find any of these products, I'd settle for enough time to brush my teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or the luxury of eating food warmer than room temperature without it being served in a Styrofoam container.
If you don't mind, I could also use a few Christmas miracles to brighten the holiday season. Would it be too much trouble to declare ketchup a vegetable? It will clear my conscience immensely. It would be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the house without demanding payment as if they were the bosses of an organized crime family.
Well, Santa, the buzzer on the dryer is calling and my son saw my feet under the laundry room door. I think he wants his crayon back. Have a safe trip and remember to leave your wet boots by the door and come in and dry off so you don't catch cold.
Help yourself to cookies on the table but don't eat too many or leave crumbs on the carpet.
Yours Always,
MOM...
P.S. One more thing...you can cancel all my requests if you can keep my children young enough to believe in Santa.
*Santa has asked that this gets passed on to all the mommies you know.

The Upside Down Show
Weird Meme
“THE RULES: Each player of this game starts with the ‘6 weird things about you.’ People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave a comment that says ‘you are tagged’ in their comments and tell them to read your blog.”
1. I am incredibly anal about even numbers. So much that when I eat things like the little pretzel sticks I have to eat them 2 at a time. Either one on each side of my mouth or two on the same side but then I must alternate sides. You don't want to know how I eat skittles! It's scary! Just ask Lesa!
2. When I was in high school I was a Valpo Vikette (flag girl at half time) and all the routines we learned were in 8 counts. For years after I counted my steps in sets of eights! I catch myself doing it every now and then!
3. I get embarrassed for characters on TV or in movies. So much that I have to turn the channel or cover my face because I feel so embarrassed!
4. When I am working on something or concentrating on something I purse my lips like I'm gonna kiss someone! It's not very attractive. It's a good thing I work in very low light and my clients usually close their eyes when I give massages!
5. Sometimes, just for fun, I will talk in a British accent. It's really is fun and usually Dave will do it back. We sound very stupid but hey!
6. I like to dip french fries in butterscotch pudding. It's very tasty! You should try it. Oh! and I like to dip carrots in the Carmel sauce they make for dipping apples!
I am not gonna tag anyone. So if you're gonna do this leave a comment so I can find out how weird you are!

Hangman and Stuff
What in the world have I been up to? you ask! Well, NOTHING! I haven't started christmas shopping yet! I haven't been knitting. I haven't been anywhere since Sunday! Well, I do walk Leslie to school every day. Davey and I take that oportunity to walk downtown every now and then but does that really count? Nah. I did just finish up yet another Nora Roberts book. I know, enough already. I just can't help how much I like to read people! What can I say. I have a couple more books on hand to read but I think it's time for a break! I've got my sock out today and am back to working on it. Poor thing probably feels neglected! I'll post some pics when I get over to my InLaws next. It would be great if Santa or the Tax Refund Fairy would buy me a digital camera! Keep your fingers crossed. Although every time we buy one the darn thing breaks. Seriously the last one broke after a month! It was a Vivitar and we got it for $100. I don't recommend that camera! I didn't even drop it. It just stopped working. Anyway, I'm rambling.
I really can't start packing for the move yet, I've made all the lists I can think of so........I guess I'm good. Tonight is my knitting circle's (The YarnHos) christmas party. I'm super excited to go although I will be missing the hour long episode of The Office. I am BUMMED to miss it. Maybe I can get Dave to record it. Wonder of wonders! That about wraps things up so, happy knitting folks. Thank you, that is all!

Christmas Meme
1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Egg Nog, I love the stuff! Especially the "chugs" you get at the grocery store.
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Most gifts are wrapped unless Santa brings something rather large.
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Usually we use colored lights. When we had our fake tree I would wrap a couple of strands of white lights around the inner poll before we put the branches on. It make the tree glow from the inside....VERY pretty!
4. Do you hang mistletoe? No.
5. When do you put up your decorations? We usually put up our decorations and tree the day after Thanksgiving but the last couple of years we've had to wait a couple weeks. We're planning on getting things up this coming weekend. We need to go get a real tree, our fake one bit the dust a couple years ago.
6. What is your favorite Christmas meal include? We have traditional meals at both my family's gathering and at my in-laws' gathering. What are they? Sloppy joes with my family and stuffed pork chops at my in-laws.
7. Favorite Holiday Christmas memory as a child? I loved being in my grandparent's house. We would play games in the attic room, my dad would fall asleep under the dinning room table! I don't know why. It was great! I just miss being with my Graddy.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I don't know really. I remember staying up really late with my sisters one year so we could catch him. Santa may not be real but I most definitely believe in the magic of the season!
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? When I was young we would open gifts at my dad's parent's house. Now, with my family, we open gifts on Christmas morning.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? Colored lights, red and silver garland, and then we have store bought ornaments as well as sentimental ornaments. Last year we had the kids make green and red paper chains. I think we'll do that again.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? It's a love/hate relationship. I love to look at it and play in it. I can TERRIFIED to drive in it.
12. Can you ice skate? I've never been ice skating in my life.
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? Dave officially proposed to me on a Christmas morning. I'd have to say that was my favorite gift because that has, in turn, brought me more gifts. My children. I love nothing more than to watch them on Christmas morning.
14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays Christmas for you?
Family.
15. What is your favorite Holiday Christmas Dessert?
Oi! What a question. My MIL makes all kinds of wonderful and tasty things. It's hard to pick just one. Rum balls, chocolate covered toffee, Fannie Mae cake, Scottish bagpipes, to name a few. Oh and I make a mean double coconut cream pie.
16. What is your favorite Holiday Christmas tradition?
Every year we take a drive on Christmas eve to look at all the decorated houses and we sing Christmas carols.
17. What tops your tree?
I have a lighted star.
18. What is your favorite Christmas Song?
Silent Night, it always reminds me of my Graddy. He used to sing it and he had such a lovely voice.

Moving!
It's been a really long time since we had our own place. We've moved around a lot these last few years, so I'm gonna do all I can to really make this a good home for us. Especially after the events from this past summer. Anyway, as you can most likely tell, I am excited!
On the knitting front, I found my sock project bag! YAY. I haven't actually worked on it in quite some time, to busy reading! TeeHee. I'll get a move on and show you what I've got done. I do really like knitting the socks on 2 circs! Okay people, we have to get around and about! Happy Knitting. Thank you, that is all!

Good News!
On the knitting front....I can't find my project back with my LL sock! I know it's around here somewhere but I've just been to busy to fish it out of my cluttered house! Shh, don't tell anyone that! I haven't touched my Mimosa Wrap in I don't know how long.....am I being to ambitious? I'm about 3/4ths done with the Harry Potter stocking hat I'm making for Davey. Honestly, I hate to say it but I haven't been knittin much in the last week or so. I'm just a reading machine!
A co-worker of mine has more books than she knows what to do with and has been my supplier for this Nora Roberts reading binge I've been on. I'm jokingly referring to her as my "dealer"! I just finished up a 4 book series she loaned to my last Sunday! That's 4 boos in 4 1/2 days people! I've been reading a lot! I just love getting lost in a good story! What can I say! I wish I could write them but I'm much better at reading them so I'll stick with that!
Work is going well. I had honestly been thinking of getting a different job lately. We're under new management and I could not be happier! I have been working with my boss to create a new spa and massage menu! I've also developed a new body treatment! I'm working on another treatment now that involves hot/cold stones, crystals, and facial massage! It's gonna be so lovely! It's really nice that my work is finally putting some stock in the massage department. We're getting things that we have needed for sooooo long. Basic things that should never have been neglected but sadly were!
So what's up with you? That's about it for me folks, happy knitting!

2 Posts in 1 Day.....Can You Believe It?
I've got a couple of knitting projects goin on at the moment. First I have the Mimosa Wrap. I'm using Sinfonia in Rosa. Total cost of yarn $4! Then I bought some Addi Turbos so add another $12. Not too bad if I don't say so myself. I like the yarn, I like the needles. However, it is going rather slow. Especially since I haven't touched the thing in a couple of weeks! What can I say I've been reading like my life is at an end! And as much as I'd like I have not mastered knitting, following a pattern, and reading a book at the same time!
My 2nd project it a sock (thinking of turning this into a glove though) using Lorna's Laces Superwash in Vera. I really like this yarn. The color is so pretty and it knits up really well. As I mentioned before I'm banging out this bad boy on 2 circs. Size 1 Addi Turbos given to me by Lesa who got them from Erin. I love free knitting stuff! LOL Again, this is going a little slow with all that reading I've been doing. But I am currently out of books to read so knitting has stepped back up to the front.
Now, I always say I"m gonna knit gifts for Xmas and I never get it done! So I am gonna start rockin out some Sweet Mary Janes for my massage clients this year! Wish me luck and nag me so that I get it done! Okay that's it for know folks!
Happy Knitting!
Book Meme
1. One book that changed your life: Scott Cunninham's "Wicca for the Solitary Practioner". My mom gave it to me and it helped set me on my path.
2. One book that you've read more than once: I read all books at least twice. Why buy a book and only read it once??? I've read "The King Must Die" and "The Bull from the Sea" by Mary Renault well over 25 times each. They are my ultimate favorite books! And that's a hard thing to say since I have a LOT of favorite books.
3. One book you'd want on a desert island: One book, only one book? Well, I just can't do that! Obviosly "The King Must Die" and "Bull from the Sea" but I'd have a trunk full of others I just couldn't live with out.
4. One book that made you laugh: "The Perfect Wife" by Lynsay Sands. It's a historical romance and it's funny as all get out!
5. One book that made you cry: "A Prayer for Owen Meany" by John Irving. I balled it was wonderful!
6. One book you wish had been written: I don't know, it hasn't been written!
7. One book you wish had never been written: "Anna Karenina" by Leo Tolstoy. ICK and still I read it 5 times!
8. One book you're currently reading: I just finished up "Key of Valor" by Nora Roberts. I have been on a Nora Roberts kick here lately. You don't want to know how many books I read in the last month! It will boggle your mind. I just love to read though!
9. One book you've been meaning to read: "The Mists of Avalon". I started reading it AGES ago and never finished it. Heck I think I only made halfway through it, if even that! It's a good book but very LONG.
10. Six people to tag: Eh, do it if you want to.

It's Back!
So what's goin on around here.......I'm working on a new sock. It's Lorna's Laces in Vera. I'm knocking it out on 2 circs! I really like it. And hey, the addi turbos were FREE.
Well, I am making this short people. It's Halloween, Samhain to my fellow pagans, and we have to get the kids ready so they can go begging for candy! I'll post more later! Thank you, that is all!

Hey! It's me....do you remember me?
On the knitting front.....still working on my Mimosa Wrap. It goes slow! It's a big project for me but I just love it. I am almost done, as in about 98% done with my Harry Potter scarf for Davey. He tells me he doesn't want fringe on the ends....whatever, it's his scarf! Plus I really don't enjoy doing the fringe. I don't hate it, it's just not my favortie thing to do! I'm itchin to cast on some more Sweet Mary Janes. Oh, and some socks too. I've got plenty of sock yarn just calling my name! So that's it for now folks. I hope you're all enjoying the new season of The Office as much as I am! Happy knitting, thank you that is all!

Finished....Almost
I have a good start on my Mimosa Wrap but haven't touched it for about a week. I think I'm a little pattern shy. This will be the most complex thing I've done so far so. I'm not too worried about it, it's just yarn, right!
My daughter, Leslie, wants a turquoise colored scarf for the winter so she and I are gonna go later in the week to pick out some yarn for her. Maybe I could even get a pair of gloves going for her! And a set to match Davey's scarf to boot! Hmmm, we'll see! As usual, my eyes are bigger than my stash! LOL
Oh, I just got done reading a Nora Roberts book. Morrigan's Cross. The first book in a trilogy. It was very good! Right up my alley! The next to come is Dance of the Gods, due out October 3rd. And then at the end of the month, October 28th, Valley of silence. It's got witches, sorcerers, shape shifters, vampires.....what more could you want! Oh....romance too! ;)
Talk to you all again soon, hopefully I can manage to post again soon......WITH pictures! We'll see! Happy Knitting! Thank you, that is all!

That's all I'm gonna say about that at the moment. I'm also happy to say that I've started swatching for the Mimosa Wrap from Big Girl Knits. I'll take some pics and post soon, I promise! Ta ta for now folks! Happy Knitting!
Oh! Dave brought me home Season 2 of The Office on DVD the other night! It's awesome! Thank you, that is all!

Long Time No Post
On the knitting front.....I've churned out a few washcloths. Not many, helps me keep my mind busy that's for sure! Oh and I've decided I'm gonna get off my duff and start working on the Mimosa Wrap from the Big Girl Knits book. Just need to get the circs I'll need. YAY! I've got all the yarn for it already. Spent a whopping $4 on it! Watch out! Oh and well the Yarn Goddess Lesa, she gifted me the last few balls of yarn I needed. Okay so that's it for now! Talk atcha later! Happy Knitting! Thanks you that is all!

A Whole Buncha Nothin
Now, I have been reading a lot again lately! I just got a couple books by P.C. Cast. I really enjoyed them. They are somewhat paganishy romance novels! The first was Goddess of Light and the second, and by far my absolute favorite, was Goddess of the Sea. I'm not gonna give up any info but if you like that sorta thing read these! Well gang, sorry I've been so quiet lately. I'll be a better blogger, I promise! Happy Knitting and or Reading. Thank you, that is all!

Sweet Mary Janes....At Last!
This first one is done but the strap is a little long. I need to shorten it and refasten it. Should take but a minute but for some reason I haven't touched it since my first week in Las Vegas.
And here is the pair. The second one as you can see still needs it's strap and button. MAYBE I'll get to it tonight after the youngers are in bed. We'll see, I make no promises.
I love, love, LOVE, this pattern. It's fun, it's fast, and it's oh so cute! I did make a change or two to the pattern but nothing major. Just another crocheted row of green.
My sister has put in her order! Oh and so has everyone else I know! Well, that's it for now! Happy Knitting!

Home
Oh, on the knitting front, I inspired a couple of younge ladies (we're talking kids) to knit and taught the older one, I think she is 15 to CO and knit in garter stitch!!! I've promised to send them some knitter's basics to help get them started! How fun is that!!!

The Traveling Knitter
Hey All! Well, I must say it's HOT in Las Vagas but not so bad when you're sitting poolside! The kids are having a blast and it sure is nice to get away!
Now, I did indeed bring plenty of yarn with me for various projects. Here is a picture, FINALLY, of my Sweet Mary Janes!!! See Jen???
The other day while out with Lesa we came across some sales at Hobby Lobby. Well actually it is becoming popular belief that sales appear because Lesa walks past!!! Anyway, I picked up some cotton yarn to make some Ballband Washcloths. Although I haven't touched them yet, I still have to finish my SMJs. But I piced out some pretty colors.
We also came across some pretty Sinfonia sport weight cotton yarn. It was $.80 per skein! I picked up all they had and was still a few short to make eigther the Mimosa Wrap or the Boobalicious Tank from Big Girl Knits. Lesa popped by before we left for Vegas with a early little birthday gift.....the rest of the yarn I needed! How sweet is that. So for eigther project my total cost in yarn.....$4!!!! Not too shabby! Now I have to decide which project to start....hmmmm! I love them both so much!
OR
What do you think???
Happy Knitting Folks! Thank you, that is all!

4 Wheelin!
Plus, Shannon and her husband Matt have gotten their boys into riding ATVs. So a lot of their friends brought their ATVs and Uncle Danny had one as well. So Dave got to ride around on Matt's. He gave the kids rides and then it was my turn. OMG! Considering this was my first time on one of those things you would think that Dave would go gentle on me. YEAH RIGHT! Have gave me a ride on a small track near the house. Later he took me out on the wooded trails! Oi! It was so scarey and fun at the same time. And yes, I hurt today! I also managed to burn myself on the hot muffler on Matt's ATV. Later we took our Misty and Arliss' (my other cousin and her soon to be husband) ATV. That thing was even fast than Matt's! While I'm screaming and hanging on for dear life Dave is about as happy as a pig in mud! I love that goofy smile he gets when he's doing something he loves. Oh, and he PROMISED me he would pop any wheelies while riding me around......HE LIED!!!!
Thank you, that is all!

Boredom!
I've also been on a reading binge. It started out with Jane Austen's classics Pride & Prejudice, Emma, and Sense & Sensibility and has now taken a completely opposite turn to......smutty romance novels! I've read 1 or 2 in the past. Part of me keeps rolling my eyes thinking "Why oh WHY are you reading this???" and the other part of me says "Oh! Turn the page, I wonder what happens next ;)"!!! I just finished a great book called The Perfect Wife by Lynsay Sands. I really enjoyed it! It was so funny, I was actually laughing out loud! It was also very sexy *teehee* with a dash of mystery in it! It was a short read, I finished it in one day but I really thought it was a fun book! I am currently reading Must Be Magic by Patricia Rice. It's got a better story than most romance novels but it's not just a romance novel. It's got a "witchy" flavor to it! Which is fun!
Now, if you have any favorite smutty books you don't want to admit to reading, LOL, let me know! Lesa has lent me a handful of books, knitting fiction and romance, so I have a bit to keep me occupied. But when a reading binge hits me I MUST read read, READ!!!
Happy Knitting! Thank you, that is all.

An Afternoon OUT!
Next we headed over the Barnes & Noble! Lesa showed me how to cast on for Erin's Sweet Mary Janes. I've got a good start on them, thank you Lesa! She also brought a lot of her WIPs for me to oogle at! I really like the pie shawl she's doing but I'm gonna start the Mimosa Wrap from "Big Girl Knits" soon....sometime soon! Anyway, we just had a great time sitting and knitting! I finished the whole afternoon off by buying yet another book! It's "The Perfect Wife" by Lynsay Sands. I've only read the little story she did for "Dates from Hell" but I rather liked it so we'll see if I've found another new favorite! Well, I think I'll go read or knit....still working on a way to do both at the same time! ;)
Happy Knitting! Thank you, that is all!

Not a G Rated Post
What the hell does this have to do with knitting.....well, I can't knit if my hands are so sweaty I can't keep a hold on the needles! I don't even want to get started on the socks I'm making for Wyatt. But ya know what really tells me that in my core I AM a knitter. I was sitting a while ago, doing nothing but watching TV with the kids and I actually thought, "I think I'll see if I have anything in my stash to whip up a wrap or shawl of some sort. It may be mother fucking hot right now but everytime I go meet someone at BN I freeze my ass off!" So I got out some yarn, I rolled it into a ball even. Then reality struck me smack in the forhead and I realized that when it's mother fucking hot out, a lap full of yarn just makes you.......REALLY mother fucking hot!
Happy Knitting Folks....for those of you who have A/C. Thank you, that is mother fucking all.

Alaina's Baby Blanket
Here's a shot, not a very good one, of the border that the pattern creates. I've used this pattern to make a ton of washcloths and usually the edging is rather even on both the increasing and deacreasing side. This time however, it was not as pronounced on the decreasing side. But it still looks lovely! I know Alaina and her Mommy will both love it!
Everytime I finish something I always get "Could you make me one?". My sister would like a simple wrap and she's looking for some cashmere yarn for me to use. She's buying the yarn so......I get the pleasure of working with whatever she picks! FUN!
In my round about surfing on the net today I came across Sea Silk mentioned.....I think on Yarn Harlot's blog. It looks beautiful and sounds really nice! Anyone have any experience with this yarn? I'm gonna go see if the LYS has any of it so I can feel....and smell it!
And of course, it would be a good post if I didn't include a picture of my little rascals! Dave bought both the kids a new outfit this morning. Davey's outfit it a sleevless tee and shorts....he's almost 4....it's sized 12 months!!!! Just to give you an idea of why we call him Little Man!
Happy Knitting! Thank you, that is all!

KnitPicks Yarn
This red Palette yarn is going to make some lovely socks for my nephew Wyatt! He LOVES red! And little Davey is quite partial to red as well, he's asked for a pair too!
I must say the Andean Silk is unbelievably wonderful! Everytime I handle it I don't want to put it down! It's so soft and uh! just lovely! I'm in love with it! I'm definately gonna have to make the Natalie Coat from the Big Girl Knits book with this stuff!
Happy Knitting Folks! Thank you, that is all!

The Rest of My Pics
We went to see the movie Cars, a cute and very funny movie indeed! We also made some funky cupcakes. Using food coloring we made Leslie's cupcakes purple and green with blue frosting. Davey liked his pink (it was supposed to be red but it never works out that way!) cupcakes with orange frosting. Very tasty! GrandMa let them use some of her colored sugar and whatnot to decorate them. YUMMY!
Now as I said in my earlier post, I've been working away on Alaina's baby blanket. For something that knits up so fast you may be wondering what's taking me so long to finish it already! It's Jane Austen. She has quickly become a favorite author! Did I say that already? I may have to look into getting some books on CD since I can't knit AND read. Hmmmmm.
And well, then there is Davey......
And finally, I will leave you all with a couple cute pictures of the loves of my life.
First off, I've been working on Alaina's baby blanket. It knits up pretty fast and only takes 2 skeins of Lion Brand Homespun. I love that stuff, can ya tell! Anyway, I should be all done with it by the end of this week. I can't wait to send it off to Alaina!
I've got Sweet Mary Janes on my mind! I just can't figure out how the heck to cast on to start them! Good thing Lesa is taking pity on me and is going to show me what the heck to do on Monday. YAY LESA!!! I'm making my first pair out of some pretty acrylic yarn called Jewels, I think. I'm too lazy to go look at the label. You'll have to take my word for it.
I just got some more yarn in the mail. From KnitPicks. I'll post pictures tomorrow. But I must say the Andean Silk is oh so soft and smells lovely! The Palette sock yarn ain't too shabby eigther! ;)
I would post more pictures but Blogger is not cooperating at the moment! Hmmm! Happy Knitting Folks! Thank you, that is all.....for now!

It's Hump Day
I haven't touched Davey's HP scarf since meeting the Stitch-N-Bitchers last Friday. I need to pick up some more yarn. I am on the last block of crimson but I don't have enough to finish it. And of course I'll need more yarn for the fringe on both ends. I'm thinking of making it a bit longer as well. Who knows how tall Davey will be by this winter and I want it to be long enough for him to use a good couple of years. Of course, I am sure, I can always hand it down to Alaina! Her mommy is just as HP crazy as I am!
I'm still waiting on my KnitPicks order. And I still need to get out and buy some sz 7 DPNs so I can go to town on the Sweet Mary Janes. That is if I can even figure out how to cast on! I believe it's a Provisional CO??? Well, I'm sure my knitting homies will help me along.
I guess that's about it. I have to get ready for work. Oh, did I mention that I'm getting a massage today? No? Well, I am. Yes, I am totally bragging. Tasha, a co-MT and wonderful friend, and I are gonna swap today. Let me just say, she gives THE BEST massages I've ever had! And I REALLY need it! So, I hope you all have a great day! Happy Knitting! Thank you, that is all!

Alaina's Blanket
I guess that's it for now. Happy Knitting Folks!
Sock It To Me One More Time!
I just got the Sweet Mary Jane Pattern from Erin yesterday! I am so excited. I have to pick up the sz 7 DPNs to get started. But I have some pretty acrylic yarn that I'm gonna use while I'm waiting for my order from KnitPicks. I got some lovely Andean Silk in Sangria and Lettuce. I'm going to make a "twin" set of mary janes a la Jen. See the lovely pair she made!!!
I also picked up some Palette Yarn in red for my nephew Wyatt's socks. Well, that's all for now folks! Have a great Saturday!

More for Dakota
I talked with Shannon and asked if I could put a picture of Dakota up on here. She said yes. I also asked about the fund started in Dakota's name. It's to help out boy scouts that can't afford the uniform shirts (they are rather pricey) and the day camp that the scouts attend. If anyone is interested in donating you can contact the Bank of DeMotte for further information.

The Pink Socks
Well, that's all I have the mind set to post right now. I'm gonna go veg out on the couch with my Little Man, Davey. Watch some cartoons. It cracks me up to watch him watch Tom & Jerry! He laughs SO hard! It would make my Graddy (my dad's dad, he passed away when I was in high school) very happy to know that. He always loved watching cartoons! Happy knitting folks. Thank you, that is all.
The Viewing
First off a big thank you so much to all of you who have offered your sympathies for my family's loss. And another for keeping us all in your thoughts and or prayers. It really means a lot. Again, thank you.
Well, we've made it through the viewing. I am sure that Matt and Shannon are just numb right now. Dave and I took the kids yesterday. Luckily the kids spent most of their time there playing with the other little kids. After about an hour Dave took the kids out for ice cream and then home. I stayed and got a ride home with my mom and sister Liz.
The room was STUFFED FULL of pictures of Dakota. You could feel the pride, joy and honor that Shannon & Matt felt at being Dakota's parents! Dakota was laid out in his boy scout uniform shirt and in a green coffin (his favorite color). Later in the evening the Boy Scouts had a ceremony for Dakota. They presented colors at which time EVERYONE in the room started to cry. One of the leaders talked and did a reading. Then they presented Matt (who was Dakota's den leader or whatever that is called) & Shannon with the troop's flag. They also played taps. It was all very touching.
They have set up a fund or something in memory of Dakota to help kids who cannot afford to go to attend BS camp. I'm not sure of the details. They are holding a breakfast on Saturday to raise money. I will post more details later. I am hoping many will attend.

Hectic Here I Come...
Let me just say, before I forget....um, IT'S FRIGGING HOT. Okay. So my sister is coming up from Bloomington tomorrow (it's her birthday, Happy Birthday Liz!!!) with my mom (she flew up from Miami). They are gonna stay the night in a hotel so that they can attend Dakota's viewing tomorrow and his funeral Wednesday morning. I am super excited to see them. They just came up for a visit about a month ago, I'm NOT super excited as to WHY they have come home. But having them here will help my kids get through all this.
Leslie, 5, doesn't understand why someone so young would die. When talking about what happened to Dakota with my sister Carmen the other day, Leslie kept asking when he would come back to life. That's a tough one to explain. But, I did the best I could. It's a hard thing for her to wrap her mind around. Little Davey, 3, almost 4, has not asked many questions. He just knows that Dakota was young, too young. Not like Great GrandMa. Only older people die, right?
So, while we have to take the kids with us to the viewing (no babysitter) we won't let them stay too long. At least Dakota's younger brother Dalton will have a couple of playmates.....maybe they can keep each other feeling good. But kids always know what's going on, more than we give them credit for. I think.
Alright, I have thoroughly depressed myself. I'm hoping I don't break an ankle in the new heels I got to go along with my new outfit. God I hate heels.
Did I mention, since I can only think of Matt and Shannon tonight, that this has been an incredibly hard past couple of years for them. Shannon has another little boy, Duke. He's about 7 months old now. I think she was about 2 months into her pregnancy when they found out that Matt had cancer. He had to go through chemo. He is doing fine now. Or as fine as I'm sure you can be when you have to bury your little boy.
And about 6 years ago Shannon's only and younger brother Jimmy was lost from us due to an overdose on heroine. When he overdosed his girlfriend and best friend dumped him in his truck, windows up, doors locked, not even a block from the emergency room!!! He wasn't found until the next morning. I don't even know how hot the inside of his truck got, it was a very hot summer night. He might have been saved from the overdose but the brain damage was too much. After 2 weeks on life support we had to let him go. I was there when he took his last breath. Shannon had to leave, she had to go to Dakota.
It really just kills me that one family has to go through so much. Dakota was the oldest boy in that generation of our family to die. Just as Jimmy was the oldest of my generation. And my Uncle Jimmy was the oldest of my mom's generation. That's just crazy. You always here this kind of stuff on Oprah or some such TV show. Okay, so I'm balling my eyes out now. But thanks for letting me vent. I'm going to bed.

Memorial Weekend Picnic
Here we have most all the Lambert clan.....Adam (BIL), Jen (SIL), Austin & Tristin (nephews), Dave (hubby @ the grill), Me (the sexy bitch in the red tee), Leslie (my daughter right behind me), Davey (my son at the front of the picture), and Val (MIL, she's gonna LOVE that I put her on my blog!). You can't see Nicky, my niece, she's directly behind me. And of course, as I said, Ray (FIL) took the picture.
Here we have me talking with Dave. And you can see Nikki, she's a teenage dive! ;) And there is little Leslie again. Notice leslie is smiling at the camera. She is quite the little model!
Here again is me and Dave, notice his lovely tattoos. That arm isn't finished yet. I love his tattoos. We're feeling the need to get some more done. I have 2 already and Dave has another on his other arm. Anyway, you can also see Nikki and Leslie again. It seems Nikki and I are both REALLY enjoying Ray taking our picture ins the incredable heat! Notice we're making the same face! LOL
In spite of the heat I did get a little work on my sock done. But it wasn't much. Knitting and extreme heat don't mix well! Hope you all are having a wonderful holiday weekend! Happy knitting. Thank you, that is all!

Some Pictures
A cute cute cute zippered pouch. And a lovely little tissue holder.
A ton of buttons! And some cards that will be perfect to go with knitted gifts!
Also, here are my Pink Ankle Socks. I'm almost done with the 2nd one! I should be wearing them before the weekend is out!
That's about it for now folks! Happy Knitting.
Update on Dakota
Viewing and funeral will be held this Tuesday and Wednesday. We have decided to keep our children from attending eigther of these services. My daughter, age 5, keeps asking when Dakota will be coming back to life. She was greatly effected by my GrandMa's passing last summer and I don't think she or my son, age 3, will be able to handle things. That's it for now.

Knitting Update
So here is a rundown of what's on the needles and what's not!
On the needles....
1. Harry Potter Scarf. I need to pick up another ball of crimson yarn to finish this.
2. Pink Sock #2. I am working on the heel flap. I should be done with the sock sometime tomorrow.
My "To Knit" list....
1. The Diagonal Homespun Baby Blanket for my niece, Alaina. I had a really good start on it. Then, my son decided to play with the needles and pulled them right out of all my hard work. I had to frog it all. So I need to get that going AGAIN!
2. Dave's Block Blanket. He says he no longer wants it. I've only got 6 blocks done. I must admit, it is boring to work on. I saw some fun stuff in that Maison Dixson book. Maybe I will do something from there.
3. Since I dumped that Branching Out project I need to find something to make with my 500 yds of DK weight alpaca/wool yarn. Suggestions please. Keep in mind I'm a novice knitter people!!!
Well, I guess that's about it. Oh, wait, Lost last night ROCKED BABY, ROCKED. Teehee! I better get the kids some breakfast before they try to eat ME! Happy Knitting Folks! Thank you, that is all. (No, that's NEVER gonna get old for me. If you're not a fan of The Office, you should be!)

Devastation! Total Devastation!
Okay, that's it I have to get off this thing before I start to cry. No I'm not really gonna cry, I'm a bit of a drama queen. But you know what I mean! So, please, leave me kind comments. I'm fragile. Oh and send me patterns, links, and whatever else you thing is great people!
On a happier note, I have a good start on Pink Sock #2. Casting on was MUCH easier this time. Practice DOES make perfect! Huh, who knew! Thank you, that is all.

1 Down, 1 To Go
Last night was the LAST episode of Charmed. It was WONDERFUL! God I love that show! I can't believe it's over! Now I'll need to get all the seasons on DVD. Dave will love that! Of course, when does he EVER like the same TV/Movies that I like. More NOT than often! LOL
He did enjoy Nanny McPhee when we saw it at the theater with Leslie and Davey. He even sat and watched the DVD when I bought it the other day. It's a great story. It's adapted from a book, I believe. Note to self: Read that book. Of course, I love Emma Thompson. I just watched Sense & Sensibility last night. If you will remember, I am also on a Jane Austen kick.
So that's about it here folks. Not a whole lot going on. Time to go start the 2nd ankle sock. Happ Knitting. Thank you, that is all.
By the way, if you don't know why I always say "Thank you, that is all." It's because Dwight from The Office always says that. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that show. It's hilarious! Okay, now, THAT is all. ;)

Lovely Day
Since we're over here at the In-Law's I thought I'd take advantage and take some more pics for you all to look at! So here are some new or newer additions to my stash.
I picked up the Fiber Trends Felted Ballerina Slipper pattern a couple weeks ago. I can't wait to get a pair of those babies on my feet!
My beautiful and handy Small Project Bag from Piddleloop. Jen filled the bag with all sorts of goodies! She's great like that ya know! I MUST get everything photographed so you can see it all.....pins, cards, a lovely zippered pouch, a kleanex holder. I love it all!
Here is my latest win from eBay. Some lovely Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock yarn in Vera. I love it. I'm also looking to get some in Havaii, it's beautiful!
And here, my friends, is my pink sock. This is some more yarn I won from Fearless Fibers on ebay. This guy, as you can see is gonna be the first of a pair of ankle socks. You may notice that there is something almost sparkling in the heel of the sock. That's some thread I'm using since this yarn is 100% merino wool. My fellow knitters tell me this will help the sock last longer. And hey, who doesn't love a little sparkle in their socks! I'm almost done with this sock. It's sock #2 and it's turning out well! I think I MIGHT have it done tonight! We'll see! That's it for now folks! Happy Knitting! ;)

Knitting Blogs Ring
And now on to my day......I started the morning out with a meeting with a Higher-up. My boss's boss! Hahoe! It went well but I'm not gonna dance around just yet! That's all I'm gonna say about that at this time. *grins and laughs an evil laugh* But honestly, I'm only trying to get what's mine.
Anyway, moving on....in knitting news. I have got a good start on sock #2. This one I'm actually gonna be wearing. I am making a pair of ankle socks in the Peppermint Pink 100% merino sock wool I won from Fearless Fibers on eBay. Oh! and if I didn't mention it already.....I won yet ANOTHER auction for some Lorna's Laces Sheperd Sock Yarn in Vera. So that's about it for now people! Happy Knitting!
Oh! and Lost was awesome last night! Tonight, ER baby! Oh, AND the last episode of Will & Grace! *sniffle* That reminds me, there's only 1 episode of Charmed left. You KNOW I'm gonna ball like a baby when it's over! *sigh* Thank you, that is all.

Frustration
I frogged my Branching Out Scarf a little bit ago. I'm just not getting into it. It's not a hard pattern and I think it's very pretty but I just can't wrap my mind around it to work on it. So I am gonna put my 8oz/500yds of handpainted wool/alpaca blend DK yarn to better use. Um, anyone have any suggestions?
What I need to do is make a wrap of some sort. *Wondering if my wool/alpaca would be enough to make anything remotely big enough to be called a wrap* I am IN LOVE with Erin's Lady E wrap. I tell her so EVERY time I see her wearing it. It's a work of art!
It WAS beautiful out earlier today. Then we heard thunder and the sky got a little dark but nothing much happened. Well, it's raining now, not too badly. The temp fell from 74ish to 56*. I talked to my sister out in Vegas, it's 100* out there! Good God! Happy Knitting Folks.
Thank you. That is all.

I am bored
I want....a new car, preferably a minivan
I wish....that I would win the lottery, a huge jackpot!
I hate....where I live.
I miss....the apartment we had on Beech St.
I fear....bad things repeating themselves.
I hear....the birds tweeting in their cage.
I wonder....who wrote the book of love.
I regret....wrecking out little Ford Focus.
I am not....a very good driver!
I dance....when there's no one around.
I sing....all the time to the kids. Mostly christmas carols.
I cry....when I watch TV. I get very caught up in the stories.
I am not always....very patient.
I make....people feel good through massage.
I write....lists. I love lists. It doesn't even have to be anything that I'm gonna do or buy. Sometimes it's just fun to daydream a list.
I confuse....myself, it happens a lot.
I need....a new car!
I should....clean the living room, as usual.
I start....lots of projects.
I finish....at least HALF of those projects!
I tag....anyone who happens to read this.

Brain Fart
Before I ordered my BGK Lesa and I would visit whenever we went to Barnes & Nobel. And while visiting I had glanced at the Mimosa Wrap pattern making a mental note that it took 270 yds of sport weight yarn. How conveinent, I had just found that lovely 500 yd skein of handpainted alpaca/wool yarn on eBay. Cool!
Ah, NOOOOO. It takes 6 270yd skeins to make the wrap. I need like 1100+ yds more! Hellowwww! Is there anyone home? Apparently not! Anyway, I love that yarn I will put it to good use I am sure!
And as Dwight (The Office) would say, "That is all."

Pictures Galore
Leslie also got into the camera action. She tells me she is gonna be an actress/singer/model! I don't doubt it!
In fact, I think both the kids are looking for a career in modeling!
So here are some pics of my sock! It's a little long for me but I'm very proud of it!
And here's a shot of all my new stuff.....
My new knitting tote from Kmart
My new PINK wannabe crocs
My handpainted alpaca/wool yarn that's gonna be the Mimosa wrap from BGK Which by the way, I came home to find a package from Overstock.com on the porch. My Big Girl Knits has arrived! I gotta say, I'm having a great week!
And yet again, my sock!
